Synergy Bahamas Student Code of Conduct, Rules & Policies Agreement Form

The following policies, regulations and code of conduct are important and applicable to all students actively enrolled at Synergy Bahamas.

Please review the terms and policies defined within this document thoroughly before signing to indicate full compliance and agreement with same. Please ensure all supporting documents or additional information, that may be required to complete the registration/payment process are submitted in conjunction with the completion of this form for due consideration (contact our admissions office for further details if needed). Synergy Bahamas Ltd. reserves the right to dismiss any student from the institution, including the forfeiture of all fees collected, tuition paid and any other rights and privileges associated with student enrolment, in the event of violation of any of the following policies, regulations or terms of code of conduct defined below.

Attendance Policy

Students are expected to attend all class sessions, presentations and events in their selected program or course. Students who are absent from a class or function should notify Synergy Bahamas at the earliest opportunity by phone and via email at info@synergybahamas.net. Students that miss more than 25% of any course in which they are enrolled may not be eligible to receive a completion certificate for that course and may be required to retake the course, in order to fulfill both academic and attendance requirements before being awarded same.  Excessive absences coupled with unsatisfactory reasons for those absences can result in dismissal from the program without reimbursement or notice.

Course Deferral

Students actively enrolled and attending any course that has already begun, may elect to defer their enrollment and retake that course at a later date. However, all deferred registrations, at the time of re-enrollment, are subject to a $100.00 registration fee and are subject to course scheduling and seat availability restrictions. Students with deferred enrolments are accommodated only after new student registrations are processed for the applicable semester and at the discretion of Synergy Bahamas Ltd. Additionally, students with payment plan agreements that elect to defer their enrolment are still required to maintain their original payment schedules as per their original payment plan agreement unless otherwise advised. Please note courses can only be deferred for a maximum of one (1) academic year, starting from the date of the original course start date. At the end of said period, all rights, fees, and payments made by the student to that point are considered forfeit and the student will be required to reapply and resubmit new registration and tuition fees to continue.

Dress Code

Students attending on campus or online classes at Synergy Bahamas are required to adhere to a smart casual dress code at all times. Students that appear in clothing that is overtly revealing or worn in an unkempt or publicly inappropriate manner may be removed from classes until the situation is corrected.

Alcohol, Illegal drugs and Smoking

Synergy Bahamas maintains a smoke-free and alcohol-free learning environment. As a result, no alcoholic beverages or active use of cigarettes, cigars, illegal drugs or banned substances will be allowed on the premises at any time. Violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal of the offenders from all current courses and programs without refund of any tuition or fees. Additionally, depending on the substance involved, law enforcement may be contacted to deliberate the matter.

Weapons

The possession or use of firearms, knives, other weapons, explosives or fireworks of any kind are prohibited on school property and during any school activity, except for law enforcement officers who are required to carry a firearm at all times. Any law enforcement officer who is required to carry a firearm on school premises or during any school activity must notify the school in writing of that requirement and provide a copy of the applicable directive that requires the officer to carry a firearm while on school premises and during school activities. The school reserves the right to inspect any and all items brought onto the school premises, including the parking lot. Except for law-enforcement officers as specified above, possession or use of a firearm, knife, other weapon, explosive or firework on school premises or during any school activity will result in the student’s immediate termination from the institution.

Medical/Medical Emergency

All students attending classes on campus with any known medical conditions or medication requirements are required to notify Synergy Bahamas of said condition or requirements before or during the time of registration. By way of this agreement, Synergy Bahamas, its staff and representatives maintain no legal liability or otherwise for the occurrence and or resulting outcome of any medical situations or emergencies that may arise during the student’s attendance and participation in their enrolled course or training program. In the event of an emergency, the staff at Synergy Bahamas will make every good effort to immediately reach and notify the emergency contact person(s) indicated on the student’s registration form and any other appropriate medical service provider as conditions allow.

Students with Disabilities

One of our company’s most important and enduring philosophies is the idea that “Education [is] for Everyone”. This means we are fundamentally committed to ensuring that anyone that is seeking an opportunity for higher education and or continued professional development should be allowed the chance wherever possible to fulfill that goal. This includes persons with various forms of physical disability. To that end, many of the classrooms and restrooms are designed to accommodate wheelchair access. We also have identified sign language interpreters for the hearing impaired and deaf that can provide translation services if needed. Of course, we will continue to seek additional ways to provide other members of the physically disabled community reasonable access to our services and facilities in the near future.

Tuition Payment Plan

Students utilizing the payment plan option are required to maintain their payment schedule as defined by their payment plan agreement. In the event a student misses a payment deadline, the following actions are taken:

  • The student will receive an email notification reminder with a request to remit payment immediately
  • Should payment not be submitted within one week of the missed deadline, the student will be denied access to all remaining classes until the required payment is made. Synergy Bahamas also reserves the right to demand payment in full for any outstanding remaining balance at that point.
  • Failure to fulfill payment obligations will result in the indefinite postponement of all course enrollments and engagements at Synergy Bahamas; all student records and certifications will be withheld; and the outstanding debt will be transferred to a debt collection agency or other suitable law enforcement entity immediately until the outstanding debt is satisfied.
  • All expenses associated with any and all attempts to collect the outstanding debt by way of a debt collection agency or other suitable law enforcement entity will be the responsibility of the student and will be reflected in the student’s outstanding balance to be paid.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued for any course or program unless:

  1. A request for tuition refund is submitted in writing 5 business days prior to the start of the course.
  2. The course or program is cancelled or postponed by Synergy Bahamas and no other start date is provided.

Synergy Bahamas reserves the right to postpone or cancel any course at its sole discretion. Courses that have been postponed or canceled by Synergy Bahamas, where a reasonable new start date is not provided, will be refunded in full.

A NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE registration fee can be used to reserve a seat in any course where space is available, EXCEPT during the late registration periods, which is two weeks prior to the start dates of the course of choice.

COURSE TUITION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE (even) if the student does not attend the course as scheduled and/or does not withdraw from the course in writing at least five (5) business days prior to the original course start date.

Manuals & Exams

All manuals and course materials can be ordered or purchased from the front desk before the start of the class. Students that are registered for courses that lead to international certification(s) are responsible for booking and paying for their exams whenever they are prepared to sit the applicable exam(s). Synergy Bahamas is a fully certified testing center for these globally recognized testing organizations: PearsonVUE, Prometric, Certiport, Kryterion and IBTA.
